Understanding Coin Price Guides

There are many coin price guides published; weekly, bi-weekly, monthly and annually. They come in the form of magazines, newsprint, hot sheets, and books. All of us have referred to one of these from time to time to ascertain what a particular coin might be worth. Yet, few of us stop to think about what we are getting from any one of these Price Guides, beyond the price or value of a coin. After all, dont price guides, just give you the price? What else is there?

Basic to an understanding of price guides are two things: 1) the Grade of the Coin; and 2) the Foundation of the price guide. Knowing the Grade of the Coin is required before one can begin. Saying so seems to be obvious, but what more does it mean?

Unless the coin is Graded by an appropriate Professional Grading Company, which has designated what Grade and Identity has been assigned to the coin, most of us are making an assumption about the actual Grade. This assumption we make can be very dangerous because of: a) the difficulty in grading a coin; and, b) the different possible outcomes or results that occur. One Grade point or level can make the difference in hundreds or thousands of dollars in the Value of a Coin.

Price Guides assume that YOU already Know the Grade of the Coin. This is why we have the First Rule of Coin Collecting: Know the Grade of Your Coin.

Secondly, ALL Price Guides are founded on the same Principle, which is that the Coin, whose price you are looking up, has been Graded using one Grading Standard. That Grading Standard is set by the ANA American Numismatic Association and is entitled the Official Grading Standards For US Coins.

Therefore, ALL Price Guides have a silent assumption built in to their guide; which is that the Grade that YOU decide upon, is the True or Accurate, and that such Grade is based on the ANA Standards.

The first difficulty that arises is that most people never know if the Grade that they have decided upon is Accurate. Of course, this difficulty never comes into question, if the coin is Professionally Graded by an appropriate company. There are only four (4) reputable Professional Grading companies that strictly follow the Guidelines set by the ANA, and they are: PCGS, NCG, ICG, and ANACS.

The second difficulty arises because of this silent assumption or Foundation of all price guides is whether or not the Grade has been decided upon using the Guidelines or Standards established by the ANA. If you dont have the skills and training of a professional coin grader, the decision is probably questionable.

Even if you do have the skills and training of a professional coin grader, the decision is still probably questionable. Why? Because even professional coin graders have differing opinions. This is why the reputable professional coin grading companies require the opinions of three (3) professional coin graders to arrive at the Grade designation to be placed on every coin.

The obvious conclusion is that a Serious Coin Collector is going to invest in rare and modern coins that are graded by one of the Top Four reputable Grading companies. It is the only certain way to eliminate the disagreements and arguments about the Grade of Any coin being Bought or Sold! It is the only certain way one can Value their coin collection. It also eliminates getting taken or cheated buying raw coins.

Have fun collecting your Perfect Coins!

Speed Learning Using The Pimsleur Method

The late Dr. Paul Pimsleur was one of the world's leading experts on language teaching. Dr. Pimsleur was a Fulbright lecturer at the University of Heidelberg and a founding member of the ACTFL - America Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages.

During his career he was associated with many educational centers including Colombia University, Ohio State University, State University of New York.

His years of experience and research revolutionized theories of language learning and teaching. He introduced many principles which made language learning much faster.

Two of the key principles are:

1. Anticipation

2. Graduated Interval Recall

Anticipation:

Rather than having information drummed into us through constant repetition, the principle of anticipation gets us to interact in the learning process.

After anticipating the answer from memory, the answer is then confirmed in the lesson. In other words, you receive information, then you recall it from memory and then use it.

Questions demand answers. Questions kick start the brain into thinking. Question and answer sessions therefore are extremely productive in the learning process.

How can Dr. Pimsleur's technique be applied in everyday learning situations?

For students or career individuals preparing for examinations, pick a "Learning Buddy", an associate who will assist you. You sit together in a 15 minute learning session.

Your "Learning Buddy" raises a question on the assigned material and gives you 5 to 10 seconds to give an answer. Whether you give the answer or not, they verbally repeat the answer.

Hearing the correct answer right after anticipation greatly increases your retention. The information is confirmed in your mind, once through anticipation and memory recall, second, from your "Learning Buddy".

Graduated Interval Recall:

This is an expression Dr. Pimsleur used to describe effective memory management.

He discovered that efficiency in remembering information was strongly connected to the intervals that elapsed before the information was recalled.

He then worked out a schedule to maximize the natural retention ability of the human brain and capitalize on peak retention intervals.

Lesson applied:

Label each learning session by giving it a name and make a list of the key points.

Then with your diary or computer planner open, write in the name of the learning session 1 day later, 1 week later, 1 month later. (Depending on the purpose or nature of the exercise, also 6 months later for long term memory).

Then simply review the key points when that session label appears in your diary or planner.

As the length of time between recalls increases, the strength of memory increases.

Taking The Family On Holidays

Avid travelers are full of wanderlust and refuse to give up their love for exploring the world, even when busy raising a family. And why should they? Traveling with children can be a joy and taking the family on holidays near and far can produce a lifetime of unforgettable memories.

Its true, however, that enjoying a vacation with kids is a bit different than an all-adult excursion. Thats not necessarily a bad thing! Traveling with children requires a bit more thought and you may be slightly restricted as to your choice of destination. But all the other perks of introducing your children to different world cultures far outweigh the sacrifices you may need to make until they grow up and you can venture off on your own once again.

Finding the Best Fit for Your Family

Where you choose to take your family on holiday can depend on lots of factors including your preference of activities, like sightseeing, sporting/active pursuits, cultural opportunities, and so forth. Begin your search for a good holiday destination by considering the things youd like to do while youre away from home. These may be activities you enjoy on a regular basis or things you rarely get to do except when youre on vacation. Are you:

An adventurous family? If so, choose a destination where you can participate in fun and daring activities like trekking, climbing, diving, jet boating, and camping under the stars. (Provided the age of your children can support these activities.) You may be just the right family for an African safari or a trip to South Americas Andes Mountains. Closer to home, your family may be ideal for a camping trip through the National Parks or a whitewater rafting trip down the Colorado River.

An artsy, cultural family? If so, select a vacation destination that can provide your fill of cultural activities. Big cities are always ideal, because you can usually find plenty of museums, theaters, concert venues, and such. Try one of the great cities of North America, like New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Philadelphia, Toronto, or Vancouver. Or, if you prefer, choose a wonderful, historic European city, like London, Rome, Paris, Amsterdam, Prague, Moscow, Barcelona, or Budapest. All have something a little different to offer.

A fun-loving family? If so, youll want to travel to a destination where your family can play together from morning til night. Maybe you enjoy amusement and water parks, taking in a local major league sporting event, playing volleyball on the beach, tobogganing through the snow, or taking part in fun and unique local festivals. There are a number of wonderful places for fun-seeking families to visit including resorts like Walt Disney World or the other Disney properties, the wacky beaches of Southern California, or even a quaint ski village in the Alps. The beauty of being a fun-loving family is that you can probably turn just about any vacation into a rollicking good time for all!

Age-Appropriate Holidays

The ages of your kids will help determine where you head for your next holiday. Teenagers can do just about anything.but will they? Be sure you allow your fickle teenager to be a part of the planning so that when you arrive at your destination, theyll be looking forward to participating in the activities theyve read about during the planning process. Be ready to compromise. Your teens first choice may not be yours, but perhaps you can find a destination that has a little something for both of you.

Traveling with elementary school-aged children can be a treat! Unlike their teen counterparts, theyre excited about everything, eager to learn, and willing to try new things. Kids from about age 7 to 12 are the easiest with whom to travel as theyll make the most of their new adventures.

Trips with babies and toddlers can be challenging. Theres so much to plan before you depart and it often seems as if you need to carry the entire house with you on your trip. Remember, unless youre going to a third-world country, you can buy diapers and other essentials when you reach your destination. Pack lightly and choose a simple destination, like a beach, where you can enjoy fun in the sun. All-inclusive resorts, found in places like the Bahamas, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico, often have special programs for toddlers and also offer certified in-room babysitting services so that parents can enjoy a dinner or evening alone.

Remember not to push your kids too far. Little ones have a limit. So do teenagers. When youre tempted to do just one more museum or spend just a half-hour more in the sun, consult your kid. If theyve already said theyre tired or hot or cold, call it a day. Your trip will run much more smoothly when your children are happy.

Food

While domestic travel rarely presents a problem when it comes to food even for the pickiest of eaters international destinations where the food is foreign can be a real challenge for parents traveling with children.

Even the well-traveled child has likes and dislikes and you cant expect your child to go without a meal. Thats why its always best to bring along a few staples just in case. Peanut butter is always a good bet, as is cereal, especially the small boxes that fit easily in your suitcase. Crackers work well, too. Any of those foods can be eaten at any meal and their familiarity will provide comfort to a child whos overwhelmed by the foreign-ness of the food on the table in front of them.

Also be sure that the food and water your child is consuming is safe. Kids are more prone than adults to intestinal disorders caused by impure water and other food-related concerns. Theres nothing worse than a sick kid in a foreign country!

Plan Well

Truly, good planning can be the difference between a good holiday and a disastrous one. When youre traveling with adults, its okay to leave things to chance, like a hotel reservation or a train ticket. With a family, however, the more complete your plans, the better.

That doesnt mean, of course, that you need to schedule every minute of every day. Kids are spontaneous and just when you think an activity or attraction might consume 15 minutes of your time, your children may love it and you may wind up spending an hour or two at that particular task. Go with the flow and let your children take the lead. Thanks to them, you may discover things youd have never found on your own!

Culture Shock and International Business, Tips For Women

If this is your first trip outside the U.S., you are probably looking forward to the new, exciting experiences that are in store for you. Unfortunately, when you arrive in your first foreign country, instead of feeling excited and full of energy, you may unexpectedly feel depressed, disoriented and lonely, especially if you are traveling alone. The greater the difference between this foreign culture and the American culture youre familiar with, the more pronounced these feelings might be. The technical term for this is culture shock.

For many Americans in foreign countries, the language barrier is often the most difficult issue to cope with. If you do not know some simple phrases in the language of your host country, you will feel very isolated. How do you communicate with others to find a place to eat or to find your way around town? What do you do for entertainment? The movies are in a foreign language and there are few places available where you can socialize easily. You suddenly feel very alienated.

Dealing with foreign currency can also be a problem. You have to do mental calculations every time you try to buy something. How much does this cost? All of these coins look alike. How much change do I get back? This can be very intimidating, especially if bargaining for goods is part of the culture.

While a brief, voluntary exposure to a new culture can be temporarily unsettling, with some awareness of what you are experiencing and a few techniques to deal with it, you will soon begin to enjoy your visit. Before your trip, learn as much as you can about the culture you are going to visit. Read some books on the history and customs of the country. Travel videos are especially helpful and readily available from the library. Get some foreign language audiotapes from the library as well and learn a few important phrases, such as Wheres the bathroom? Waiter, How much is this? Please, and Thank you. Youll likely run into foreigners who speak some English and who love to practice it on visitors. If you know a few phrases in their language they are often encouraged to try out their English on you. Also learn something about food names and ingredients so you will feel more secure in ordering from the menu in a restaurant. If you have the opportunity, seek out some ethnic restaurants at home and try out these exotic foods before you leave.

Plan to do some sightseeing in your spare time. Make a list of the key tourist attractions and find out from a travel agent how to get there from your hotel. Take a city tour after you arrive to familiarize yourself with the area. You can usually book English-speaking tours at your hotel once you arrive. Plan to keep yourself busy. Above all, dont hide out in your hotel room moping.

There are many American and other internationally-known hotel chains in most countries. The staff there usually speaks English quite well and the hotel will quickly become your home away from home if you feel comfortable in it. Look for a hotel with a gym, swimming pool, jacuzzi, several restaurants, a sundry shop and perhaps a lounge where you can relax in the evening. Get the business card of a reliable taxi service as well as the hotel card with its address and phone number in the local language and be sure to keep it with you when you go out. Show it to the taxi driver when you are ready to go back to the hotel. Some hotels even offer a shuttle service to the center of town as well as to the airport so you dont have to bother with taxis. Become friendly with the hotel concierge who will usually have walking maps, restaurant suggestions, theater and museum tickets, and shopping tips and who is there to make your visit as pleasant as possible.

Women traveling alone have the added burden of being an anomaly in some foreign countries where few women are employed in executive positions in the business world. You might find people staring or being downright rude. Ignore them. Focus on your strengths, take a few deep breaths, relax and move on.

Exhaustion is also common when traveling. Jet lag is a physical phenomenon and the greater the change in time, the more time needed to adjust. On some trips you may find night and day completely reversed from home. In addition, major cities in Europe, Asia, and South America are quite congested and have a higher level of noise and air pollution than you may be used to. When all of the noise and congestion begins to feel overwhelming, take time out to relax. Get plenty of sleep, eat lightly and drink lots of fluid, preferably bottled water. Get some exercise every day even if it is just a walk around the block (if the area is safe). Bring your laptop computer. Remember your friends and family are only an e-mail away. Above all, keep your sense of humor. This is an experience to be enjoyed; make the most of it.

Feelings You May Have

Depression: When you have to deal with great multitudes of people speaking a foreign tongue, and with vastly different customs and lifestyles, it is easy to become anxious and irritable. The resulting feeling of being helpless to do anything about your situation can lead to depression and an overall loss of energy.

Disorientation: You may be traveling to countries where English is not used on street signs, office buildings, or restaurants. Panic can set in quickly. It is not only very frustrating to try to find your way in an unfamiliar environment, but it can also be frightening when you dont recognize where you are and realize that you cant just ask anyone to help you.

Intimidation: We all like to feel that we are organized and in control of our environment. In other countries, however, you may feel frustrated and thwarted by the numerous steps it may take to do a simple task such as paying for some purchase.

Alienation: When you travel abroad, you may feel out of place, particularly if you dont speak the language. In many countries it is not likely that you will be invited to join a social group or even be approached at a social gathering. You will more likely be left on your own, which may cause you to feel rejected and uncertain about how to proceed.

Boredom: Because of language difficulties, there are not many places you can easily visit in the evenings or on weekends. Since you dont know too many people, you cant even make phone calls to lessen your isolation. Sightseeing presents both transportation and language problems as do sojourns to the movies and theater -- but how many times can you watch the same CNN or Sky Net programs on TV?

Exhaustion: You truly do expend more energy doing less when you are on the road. Adjusting to jet lag, getting to your business appointments on time, maneuvering through crowds on the street, finding a cab, and haggling with a shopkeeper over prices when you are trying to pick up a few souvenirs can be physically and mentally exhausting.

Attitude Adjustments

Recognizing that any uncomfortable or negative feelings youre experiencing in this new culture are normal will help alleviate your discomfort. Its also helpful to know that others have similar reactions. Remind yourself that you are traveling for a purpose and that youll be going home when your job is done. Here are some suggestions that may help ease your adjustment:

Take care of your health. Get plenty of sleep and be careful about what you eat and drink. Get daily exercise.

Relax. When the noise and crowds get to you, take some time out for yourself. Consider bringing a tape deck and a relaxation tape with you to listen to for twenty minutes a day. Luxuriate in a bubble bath.

Dont mope around your hotel room. Stay active: jog, swim, or join a local exercise group if you have an extended stay. Take a walk through a local park or visit a museum (check with your hotel first on what areas are not safe and should be avoided). Re-center yourself by focusing on your strengths and pursuing your interests.

Keep your sense of humor. Look for the amusing aspects of your situation. At least you will have lots of good stories to tell when you get home. Laughter releases tension.

Know you are envied. Many people appreciate the exotica of other cultures and would give their eyeteeth to be in your position. This should bring you some sense of satisfaction.

If you are traveling for an extended period of time, try bringing a few things from home to put in your room, such as photos, your favorite pillow and maybe some of your favorite CDs to play while walking around.

Travel with a companion. If you know someone else who is also traveling on business, think about coordinating your schedules to meet for dinner or for sightseeing. It is easier to face a new environment as a team than to face it alone.

Preparing for Culture Shock

Get to know the people you will visit. Use phone, fax, or letter to initiate your relationships. A friendly reception is more likely to await you when you arrive.

If you are traveling to a country for the first time let your hosts know and ask them for some advice on what to do and see while you are there. You might find that they will spend more time with you if they know you are there for the first time, and may even make arrangements for you or help you arrange to see some cultural events or take a tour. Most hosts will appreciate your interest in their country and culture, and this will help enhance your relationship.

List places you think you might want to visit. Jot down interesting day and evening destinations that you might like to visit in your spare time.

Plan your days carefully, finding activities that will help you fill your spare time. If you are very busy, you will have little time to experience culture shock.

Exploring On Your Own

If you can, take a city tour soon after you arrive. This is a safe and comfortable way to become familiar with your new environment. Short tours (about four hours) in English can usually be booked at the hotel, where you will be picked up and dropped off afterward. Tours also provide a good opportunity to meet other women business travelers.

Do a little bit of sightseeing each day. Visiting even one city site on the way back to your hotel from a meeting or on the way to lunch or dinner will help give you a deeper understanding of the culture and the people.

If the area is safe for walking (ask at the hotel), get a map and explore. Your hotel will provide a map of the surrounding area at your request. A walk through the neighborhood will help you see how people live and work. Be smart about walking and do so only during daylight hours and in safe areas.

Hire a driver or use a taxi. In many countries it is very reasonable and a safe way to sightsee. Renting a car in foreign countries may be more than you can or would want to handle. In many countries public transportation is your best bet -- except during commuter hours when it may be very crowded.

Plan your travel routes. Keep the telephone numbers of taxis, and bus and train route maps with you, as well as a card from your hotel in the local language in case you get lost. City maps can easily be obtained from tourist offices at the airport or downtown as well as from your hotel concierge or desk clerk.

Establish familiar grounds. Frequent certain lunch and dinner spots and evening hangouts to help you establish a rapport with the owners and locals and make you feel like youre part of the group.

Talk to locals who speak English. They appreciate the chance to practice their English and will be delighted at your interest in their culture and more than happy to answer your questions about it.

Adapting

Be flexible. Allow plenty of time to get to appointments. Bring a book to read in case you have to wait. Try to figure out ways to avoid offending your hosts while satisfying your own needs.

Be patient. People in foreign countries are not usually as direct or in as much of a rush as people in the U.S. When you feel yourself getting uptight, take a few deep breaths and visualize a calming scene. Remember that people wont behave the way you expect or want them to, and getting upset wont make you or them feel any better.

Ask your hosts some questions about their country and culture. They will usually enjoy talking about it, which will help you better understand and appreciate what you are seeing.

Develop friendships by showing interest in your hosts. This, in turn, will help overcome what you may initially perceive as a negative environment.

Keep an open mind. Look for similarities and intriguing differences between your culture and the one you are visiting. Focus on the good aspects. Try role reversalhow would you react if a foreign businessperson visiting you in the United States insisted that their way of living and doing business was the only way? When youre in another country, remember to do as the locals do, since it is your ways that may seem strange or offensive to them.

Try to remember to keep a sense of humor. When you feel confused, embarrassed, or upset, smile, smile, smile.

Free Time

It is inevitable when you travel that things wont always go according to plan. You will probably experience delays and have free time. In general, when you travel internationally it is wise to allow more time to get to where you are going. You will most likely experience a delay at airports, on public transportation or from traffic. You might have difficulty finding an address. You might also find that a meeting has been canceled or rescheduled once you have already arrived. In general, be prepared for unexpected free time.

Free Time During Travel

Keep a book or some magazines handy to help pass the time. It can be very frustrating to sit in an airport with an extended delay with only one English newspaper available for sale at the newsstand.

Bring a CD or cassette player with you with your favorite music or, even better, language tapes for the country you are visiting. It will help pass the time and help you learn some key phrases. (Remember to bring extra batteries.)

Many airports have services for business travelers who are delayed. Some excellent stop-over points include: Heathrow Airport, in London, England; Frankfort International Airport, Germany; the Miami, Florida airport for those en route to Latin America; and the Singapore airport for those traveling in the Far East. Services may include health clubs, showers, swimming pools, movies, city tours, and nap rooms.

If you plan to travel a lot, it is wise to join one of the many airline hospitality clubs offered by major airlines. These clubs provide a quiet area in which to relax in a comfortable environment during a long delay. You will most likely also meet other traveling businesswomen there. Many of these hospitality clubs serve refreshments and offer various other amenities such as TV, flight confirmation and magazines.

If you are traveling overseas and have not joined a club, see if you are eligible for one-time use of a club in an international airport. Many times if you are flying business- or first-class the club entry is included with the flight as a layover courtesy.

Free Time at Your Destination

If a meeting is canceled or postponed and you cant make business use of the time, take a tour to familiarize yourself with the area you are visiting. Your hosts will appreciate your efforts to understand their culture.

If you dont have a lot of time to sightsee, walk around the city (ask first if it is safe to walk around and for suggested areas to walk) to get a feel for how the people live, eat, and interact with each other.

If you have a part of a day which is free (due to a canceled meeting, for example) talk to your hotel concierge about a morning or afternoon tour or hire a taxi to take you to the major sight seeing spots.

Many hotels offer nightlife tours that include a city illumination tour, dinner and a cultural show. Many of these excursions can be booked the same day so you can fit it in to your busy schedule. It is a great way to learn about the culture and meet other businesswomen on the road.

Check to see if any museums or department stores have late night hours. Major cities such as London and Paris have extended hours at least one night a week, which is ideal for business people on the road.

How to Make Your Good Man into a Million Dollar Man

Nothing makes your Good Man feel better about himself as a man than to know that he inspired and created the orgasm experienced by this wonderful, beautiful, sexual woman, you, his Good Woman. Nothing.

Your Good Man could receive a million-dollar bonus or be promoted early or be acclaimed as an outstanding architect. Any of those events would no doubt make him feel great. But when he makes you come on his manhood, tongue, or fingers, nothing else (not money, not promotion, not acclaim) makes him feel so great as a man. Let me say it again because it is so important to your long-term, loving relationship. When you enthusiastically and consistently give your Good Man complete credit for your orgasm, he will never leave you, because he feelsyou make him feelso incredibly good as a man.

As a general rule, be noisy in bed. As I said a few paragraphs ago, let him know that you are really into sex with him, that you are his enthusiastic lover. Tell him how good you feel. Moan. Breathe heavily. Scream. The verbal feedback he gets from you not only lets him know he is pleasing you mightily, but also excites him and gets him harder. And it encourages him to give you even more of his, which will drive you even crazier, until you come and make him so happy. Beyond happy, your feedback makes him so proud of himself, so proud of his manhood. Youve made him feel fantastic as a man.

Caution. Much as we women may think that men can be insensitive at times, there is one area in which a man is very sensitive: the extent of your enthusiasm for sex with him. A Good Man wants you to be into sex with him. If he senses a lack of real enthusiasm and passion from you, he will be dissatisfied with the sex the two of you have. Let your passion and enthusiasm be sincere and clearly expressed, so that he feels your total involvement in sex with him.

Vocational Schools That Specialize In Nursing In California

Research has shown there is a shortage of nurses in the United States. This is because there are a lot of people who are getting older and many graduates would prefer to work elsewhere.

Given the situation, a lot of vocational schools in California have invested a lot of money into advertising in the hopes that many will answer this call.

Here are a few schools worth checking out.

If the person lives near Disneyland, a great vocational school that will teach everything there is to know about being a nurse is Bryman College located in Anaheim.

The school has a program called Vocational Nursing Certificate or LVN that can be finished in 18 to 24 months depending on the progress of the student. Those who graduate will have the tools to work in an entry-level position in hospital or clinic.

West Coast University in Los Angeles, California offers students an Associate of Science in Nursing. Some consider this to be better than earning a Bachelors of Science in Nursing that takes 4 years because people who take the 2-year course are able to finish the program faster and earn more money.

The California State University in San Bernardino offers advanced training for people who took up the basics in nursing. The student can upgrade to get bachelors or a masters degree in nursing that will prepare the individual to handle a ward or a wing in a big hospital or in a small clinic.

The vocational nursing schools mentioned are just three of more than 20 campuses stretching from San Francisco all the way down to San Diego. The person should check these places in the Internet to find the most convenient place to go and learn about nursing.

Shifting to another career is an option for many Americans. This is because many people have realized that nurses get paid more that the salary offered in the current job.

If the individual is thinking of leaving, it will be a good idea to check which school will offer the best program. Should the person not have enough money to hit the books again, the school can accommodate this by allowing the student to work and study part time.

Budget Air Travel

Budget air travel tips

A cheap flights guide to the lowest budget air travel

Want to go on vacation, but spending $600 for a flight to New York too high of a price tag? Believe me I understand, as a recent college graduate travel for me is always on an economy budget. Whether you are taking a weekend getaway or going on a family vacation, here are a few tips to follow to help you find cheap flights and the lowest budget air travel.

Shopping online

A decade ago, booking flights was not as easy of a task as it is today. With the advent of the Internet, booking flights has only gotten easier and easier and with that it has only become easier to find cheap airfare deals. Many airlines will give small flight discounts by booking on-line. Also, try signing up for airline e-mail updates, to alert you of the most current cheap flights.

My mother told me, you better shop around

With so many different airlines to choose between and a vast array of travel sites, it is easy to uncover some great deals by simply doing a little bit of investigating. Visit every airline Web site that is available locally and visit several travel sites like Travelocity, Expedia, Orbitz and Priceline. The only difficulty involved with booking through sites like these is that oftentimes only certain dates are available, which may cause you to have to be flexible with your travel plans.

Check out non-sale prices

The sale price on a plane ticket at an airline isn't always the lowest budget air travel price. Other airlines or Web sites may offer better budget air travel deals than the one you could get from the airline.

Be flexible

The more flexible your travel plans are, the more cheap flights you'll find. Try looking up different dates, because some weeks can be busier than others. It's best to avoid flying on weekends, so the best deals can be found if you leave mid week and stay through Saturday. The time of day you fly also can help to determine prices. More unpopular times like early morning or late night flights can be cheaper. If the prices still are high, try looking at departing or arriving at different airports. Sometimes neighboring airports will offer better deals. For example if you are vacationing in San Francisco, arriving in Oakland or San Jose may save you hundreds of dollars. Additionally, if you are looking to save money, nonstop flights can oftentimes be more expensive. If layovers are not too bothersome, they can oftentimes save travelers money.

The more you shop around - the better deals you will find.

Also, the more flexible your travel destination is the better.

Web sites like Site59 offer cheap last minute deals on flights, flight and hotel package deals, and flight and car rental deals.

So if you're looking to go on vacation, and the destination is flexible, you can find some cheap airfare deals.

Wait till last minute to book

Airlines don't like to fly with empty planes, so oftentimes great deals can be found if you wait until the last minute to book. It can be a risk, but sometimes it's worth the gamble.

Ask about taxes and fees

Some ticket sales may look like a deal, but once you factor in the fees they no longer are. When quoted a ticket price, always ask to have the fees and taxes added in because these can oftentimes add up to $100 or more to the price.

Check out package deals

Look into package deals that include hotel reservations and/or car rentals. Oftentimes you can save hundreds of dollars by purchasing package deals. However, before you do, always look into how much it would cost for you do purchase these things on your own and compare.

All it takes is a little bit of time spent shopping around and little bit of flexibility and anybody can find the lowest budget air travel deals. The more money you save on cheap airfare, the more money you'll have spend having fun while on vacation.

Introduction to Microsoft .NET Technology

In 2000, Microsoft announced its .NET software environment, a new addition to Windows. The .NET (dot net) environment is effectively a virtual computer that runs on a real computer, with the advantage that any program written for it will run on any computer which is running .NET.

One important aspect of the .NET strategy is its independence from a specific language or platform. Developers can create a .NET application in any .NET - compatible language and participate in the same software project writing code in the .NET languages in which they are most competent (such as Visual C++.NET, Visual Basic .NET, C#, Perl and others). Part of the .NET software environment includes Active Server Pages (ASP) .NET technology, which allows developers to develop applications for the Web.

The .Net architecture can exist on multiple platforms, further extending the portability of .NET programs. Additionally, the .NET software environment involves a new program development process that could change the way programs are written and executed, leading to increased productivity.

The most important component of the .NET architecture is Web Services, which are applications that can be used over the Internet. One example of a Web service is the tour operators flights booking system. The tour operator wanted to enable customers to book flights from the tour operators Web site. To do so, the tour operator needed to access the airlines booking system. In response, an airline partner created a Web service that allowed the tour operator to access the airlines database and make bookings. Web services enable the two companies to communicate over the Web, even if they use the different operating systems (the tour operator uses UNIX and the airline uses Windows). By creating a Web service, the airline can allow other tour operators to use its booking system without creating a new program.

The .NET strategy extends the concept of software reuse to the Internet, allowing developers to concentrate on their specialties without having to implement every component of every application. Instead, companies can buy Web services and devote their time and energy to developing their products.

The .NET strategy incorporates the idea of software reuse. When companies link their products in this way, a new user experience emerges. For example, an online store could buy Web services for online credit-card payments, user authentication and inventory databases to create an e-commerce Web site. The keys to this interaction are XML and SOAP, which enable Web service to communicate. XML gives meaning to data, and SOAP is the protocol that allows Web services to communicate easily with one another. XML and SOAP act together combining various Web services to form applications.

Another important concept in the .NET technology is universal data access. If two copies of a file exist (such as on a personal computer and a company computer), the less recent version must constantly be updated, this is called file synchronization. If the separate versions of the file are different, they are unsynchronized and could lead to serious error. Using the .NET data could reside in one central location rather than on separate systems. Any internet-connected device could access the data, which would then be formatted properly for use on access device (a desktop PC, a PDA or other device). Thus, the same document could be displayed and edited without the need to synchronise the data, because it would be up to date in central area.

Speakers For Our Car Audio System. Is Bigger Better?

You are now considering purchasing new speakers for your car and there are a number of things that should be thought about in order that you make the best choice possible. It is crucial that when looking to purchase speakers for your car you go with a clear idea and plan of what it is you intend to buy. It does not naturally follow that the bigger the speakers the better they are.

In fact you may find that when purchasing your speakers they may cost more than you intended and it is wise not to purchase ones which have numerous features which you wont actually use. It is sensible to remember that the highest quality audio speakers available for your car will cost more than a lot of others, but in general these are worth the extra cost. However, if you do decide that big speakers are what you want then make sure the ones you purchase have a brand name that can be depended upon and ensure that they will provide you with crystal clear sound at all times.

Today there are 2 kinds of basic car stereo speakers available on the market and these are component or full range speakers. Both have their own pros and cons. However, if you are looking to replace the factory installed speakers already in your car with the minimum of fuss then you should no look no further than full range speakers (consisting of a tweeter and woofer, you may even find some come equipped with a midrange or super tweeter as well). These styles of speakers also come in a varying range of sizes and prices.

But then again as previously discussed if you are looking for bigger car speakers to install then you should be considering a component speaker set. Not only do component speakers give you the best possible sound quality for your money because of their superior design and each component has been specifically designed to complement each other. Certainly big speakers can be a part of any component system as long as you make sure that you have all the necessary components for their installation.

A component system is especially good for those people looking for a serious stereo speaker system for their car. This sound system will not only provide you with greater depth of sound but also a much realistic one as well. The exceptional dynamics and detailed sound provided by such a system is because of the higher standard of materials that have been used which will not normally be found in a full range speaker system.

However, when it comes to which are better, small or big car speakers, this cannot be easily answered. Even if you prefer to install big speakers in your car they will not always provide you with the best sound and you will soon see just how many different shapes and sizes of speakers there are now available. But rather than deciding on big or small speakers for your car it is much wiser to invest in a good quality car audio system instead.

Customize Home Plans for Personalized Living

Many people have a good idea of what they are looking for in home plans, but until they actually see the elevation drawings, it is just an idea. One of the advantages of choosing home plans already completed is there is a good chance there are a set of plans that resemble what they are looking for.

There are usually subtle differences between what they thought they wanted and what they decide on once they see the designs put together by a professional architect. Odds are there will be some things in the home plans that the potential buyer did not think about, such as a patio door leading to a deck from the master bedroom, or space on the back porch for a hot tub.

Several people may be able to sketch out their thoughts on a napkin or notebook paper and visit a builder who will have their architect draw plans for them. This can be expensive, not to mention time consuming while they wait for completed home plans. Visiting a company such as http://www.thehousedesigners.com can lead them to plans that will be close to their napkin drawing and customizable to get even closer.

These types of plans will also meet the construction code requirements in every state as the architects responsible for the plans have extensive experience in home plans and insuring they meet all construction standards, regardless of the state in which the home will be built. Simply letting them know where you plan to build, and the plans are checked and checked again to ensure compliance with any state and local codes.

The size of your lot and how the home plans will fit on your lot is another consideration that professional designers and architects can help you with. Perhaps a simple reduction in your home plan is all that is needed to fit the house on the lot, or maybe a new design is needed, but these are things for which you will want professional help.

Corporal Punishment Around The World

I was listening to one of the Parent Teacher Association meetings we have regularly at my sons school when our normal chit chat and conversations about the weather were ended abruptly by a question from Mrs. Stallworth.

Is it right to discipline kids with spanking and other forms of corporal punishment? asked the usually meek Mrs. Stallworth. The question caused immediate silence in the room as the normally loquacious parents and teachers seemed stunned by the frankness of the question. Im sure no one wanted to imagine the thought of considering whether or not it is right to spank their kids. It was surprising, no doubt about that. But after we recovered from our initial shock, we realized that the question was relevant.

It seems that Mrs. Stallworths son Billy was caught stealing some coins from his mothers purse. Mr. Stallworth, a man who exuded moral integrity and discipline, apparently had taken out his belt and hit Billy on the hand. Mrs. Stallworth stressed that it wasnt anything severely painful but it was nonetheless a jarring experience for Billy since it was the first time he had ever been spanked.

In an effort to make sense of it all, Mrs. Stallworth had done some research on the topic. Now, she wanted to share what she had learned with the rest of us and in exchange, she wanted us to tell her how we felt.

It turns out that there are many countries that legally ban and condemn the practice of corporal punishment for children such as Austria, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Cyprus, Denmark, Latvia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Germany, Israel, Iceland, Romania, Ukraine and Hungary.

The reverse is true in Asia where people not only tolerate the practice of corporal punishment but even endorse it. Many Asian countries carry the tradition and belief that a fair amount of punishment will make their children better people.

For instance, in places like China, Taiwan, Japan and Korea, it is legal to punish one's own child using physical means. However, China and Taiwan prohibit their schools from using corporal punishment against children.

Best Alaska Day Cruise Destinations

In Alaska there is a lot of great sightseeing to be had. Unfortunately much of it must be done by water or air. In this article I will help outline the top destinations for day cruising in Alaska as well as what you can expect on your journey.

When you are going to be on a day cruise it is important to remember to make plans for accommodations after your cruise is over. Each of these destinations does offer many wonderful accommodations options from Hotels to the stylish bed and breakfast. It is however important to make reservations ahead of time because during the peak season accommodations can be difficult to find.

The peak cruising season for each of these destinations is May through August. In May and June you can expect a good chance for the sun to be out. In July it will be on and off again type weather and in August there is a good chance you will find the rain. None the less, whether it is sunny or overcast a day cruise in Alaska is still a lot of fun.

Popular Alaska day cruise destinations:

Whittier Whittier is a small town close to Anchorage that is now accessible by car or train. Through Whittier you will have access to all the beauty that can be found throughout the Prince William Sound. It is a well protected port with many amazing Glaciers nearby. There are several day cruise options out of this port and even a ferry that will take you all the way to Valdez if you like.

Valdez From Anchorage you can reach Valdez by air, car or the ferry out of Whittier. Valdez also offers access to the amazing Prince William Sound with its crystal clear waters. Out of Valdez you are likely to see Glaciers, whales, puffin otters and more. Being one of the furthest ports from Anchorage can be a drawback of this day cruise destination but the beauties of the scenery will more than make up for it.

Seward Seward is probably the most popular cruising port in Alaska. The large cruise ships will dock here because of the easy access. From Anchorage you can access Seward by car, tour bus or train. There are many Alaska day cruise options here including stop on private islands such as Fox Island. You will have the chance to see otters, sea lions, puffins, orcas and humpback whales. At this popular Alaska port there is never a dull moment.

Homer Homer is known mainly as a fishing port however, there are still some day cruise options here. Homer can be accessed from Anchorage by car or air. There is a water taxi that will take you from Homer to the secluded town of Seldovia. There are private boats for hire that will allow you access into Tutka Bay and other secluded area nearby. Out of Homer you can expect to see many sea otters, puffin, humpback whales, beluga whales and even the occasional pilot whale.

One thing you will find that all of these great day cruise destinations have in common is the amazing experience to be had by all who participate. You will see sea life, most likely a glacier or two, possibly some orca or humpback whales but for sure everyone will witness the amazing landscapes and scenery Alaska has to offer. Honduras Cigars: Spreading the Seed

Many people may think of Honduras and recall a memory from 7th grade that involves a map of Central America, a pop quiz, and a prayer. For the avid cigar smoker, however, Honduras is thought of as much more. One of the biggest tobacco producers on our planet, cigar lovers think of Honduras as a virtual Mecca, a place where tobacco seeds go to make their parents proud.

Honduras, located near Guatemala, El Salvador, and Nicaragua, is a country made up of an instable history, one that involved fights for independence, hurricane devastation, human rights violations, and political diversity. Together these have all caused Honduras to be among the poorest countries in Central America. But, unlike some of its adjacent countries, Honduras is rich with cigar making ingredients: when Central American neighbors want to borrow a cup of tobacco, the door of Honduras is one of the first places they knock.

Honduras is a segment of Mesoamerica, the nickname given to the land that reaches from Mexico to Costa Rica. Because Mesoamerica is located in an area home to a wide range of animals and plants, it's known as a biodiversity hotspot, an area with diverse resources that are threatened by destruction. At last count, Honduras was in possession of over 6,000 species of plant, with one of these being tobacco.

Similar to the cigars made in the Dominican Republic, some Honduras tobacco has Cuban roots, with many tobacco growers fleeing Castro's rule and planting themselves, and their seeds, in other countries. In fact, the early 1960's saw expert cigar makers come over to Honduras from Havana, with approval from Castro's government, to help with tobacco growing techniques. While initially intending to return to Cuba, some of these experts remained in Honduras, keeping with them their knowledge from Cuba's tobacco past and the tools for Honduras' tobacco future.

The climate of Honduras is extremely appealing to tobacco growers, with an environment that allows all varieties of tobacco seeds to thrive, particularly Cuban seed tobaccos and Connecticut seed tobaccos. This growing environment ultimately allows the tobacco grown in Honduras to be full-bodied, flavorful, strong, and in possession of a heavy aroma.

The cigars from Honduras have worked to make a name for themselves, becoming a cigar that connoisseurs routinely seek to take out for a smoke. With the fertility of the land, the natural resources, and the knowledge passed down from generation to generation, tobacco makers in Honduras have been able to perfect the growing of home grown seeds, delivering cigars that are 100 percent Honduran.

Many Cuban companies continue to work on Honduras lands and many American companies have also taken root in the cities of Danli and the San Pedro Sula. Established as cigars made of the highest quality, cigars from Honduras sell frequently in the US, with only cigars from the Dominican Republic selling more often. This popularity has transcended continents, as Honduras cigars have started to gain popularity in parts of the United Kingdom, like a cigar sent off for a successful European tour.

While Cuban cigars were once without competition, viewed by so many as the only cigar on the market that could not be rivaled, Honduras cigars are beginning to gain momentum, challenging Cubans to a bout of greatness. When it comes to the cigar loving population of the US, it may only be a matter of time before cigars from Honduras beat Cubans; since Cuban cigars can't get into America, they will have to forfeit.

As Honduras cigars gain in reputation, the country of Honduras also begins to gain ground, rebuilding from past destruction and turmoil. As the demand for Honduran cigars increase, the amount of acreage used to grow tobacco increases and the amount of revenue the country of Honduras receives from exports begins to rise as well. If this keeps up, we can only hope that someday Honduras will be as rich as the cigars it produces.

Car Navigation Sytem - Your New Driving Personal Assistant!

Do you ever get lost? You know, maybe you're looking for that friend's new place, and you take a wrong turn and end up in the middle of nowhere. This is a rather common scenario that happens to the best of us. We all lose our way every now and again. However, that doesn't necessarily mean that everyone stops and asks for directions. Some of us hate to stop at the random gas stations or pit stops to get that much-needed heads up on how to get to our destination.

And this is why we often carry on driving around, circling aimlessly. Oh and of course, act like we know what we're doing. Well, fortunately these days there are simpler ways to deal with this common dilemma. Ever heard of the new car navigation systems or GPS? I'm sure everyone has by now. Probably the best thing since slice bread.

Does your vehicle have one of those car navigation systems? Although this option is rather choice on some of the newer cars, it can be a little bit on the steep side. The good news is you can buy a GPS system separately and then choose to use it whenever or wherever you like. Garmin is currently one of the top sellers of portable and car navigation systems.

I bought one from Wal-Mart for a couple hundred dollars. While this may sound expensive for some, trust me it's a purchase you'll be glad you made. Just last summer I had to make a trip into the heartland. Okay, maybe not everyone knows what the heartland is; therefore if you're not privy to this vital information, the heartland is Iowa. Anyway, I decided to take my nice little GPS system on this road trip and it turned out to be a life saver.

I basically programmed the start and finish point addresses into the navigation system and it told me where to go. And when I say it told me, I mean it literally told me out loud! Many of these contemporary car navigation systems talk to you, which proves wonderful on the road. This way you don't have to worry about having to look down to read the map half the time.

Car navigation systems run off a satellite signal and works like a charm just about anywhere on the planet. If you're in search of a modern GPS system, then it's imperative to look online. The Internet is loaded with car navigation systems to suit anyone's needs. Make sure you get up to speed with a new navigation system at your side.

Traveling in a Digital Age - Portable Solar Power?

I can still remember the analogue days of travel, when I backpacked through Europe and Asia with no more electronics than a couple of Double-A batteries (at best). I only needed them if I wanted to use the flash on my camera. That was less than fifteen years ago.

Now I don't even go to the zoo without my laptop and my digital camera. When the battery runs out, it's time for coffee. And then I make sure I sit near a power outlet in the nearest cafe.

But what do you do when there are no power outlets? If you are kayaking in the middle of the Atlantic, climbing Mount Everest, or just on a local camping trip in the wilderness, what do you do when the batteries run out?

Some say "just bring extra batteries." That might work.

But what if you have several different electronic items, and you don't want to buy spare batteries for each of them? What if you'll be away from civilization for an extended period of time, and the spare batteries just won't last?

A solution for this can be portable solar power. Devices exist which will charge your electronic equipment, using the power of the sun.

Not all portable solar power devices are the same. Some provide enough power to charge a laptop, some can be used for smaller devices such as cameras, and some can only be used for devices that use very little electricity - like MP3 players.

The amount of power that a solar device provides depends mostly on the size of the device. Bigger solar panels generally provide more power. Other factors influence the amount of electricity produced by a solar power device. These factors include the strength of the sun, the length of exposure to the sun, the obstruction to sun (mist, cloud cover, dust, etc.), and the location of the equipment on the Earth.

Different solar power devices provide different amounts of power, and are therefore compatible with different types of equipment.

Portable Solar Power devices also exist in a variety of forms. Some are light and flexible, while some are contained in durable units that look like a small suitcase or radio. There are waterproof varieties, as well as solar panels built into bags and backpacks.

When you are away for a few days, extra batteries may suffice to keep your camera or phone going. But if you will be away from civilization for weeks? Or even months? Ironically, escaping from the modern world can also involve modern solutions. Far and alone on the Patagonian plains, with nothing but the wind and the horses to keep you company, you may feel like you're living six centuries into the past. But that doesn't mean you will never want to access your email or take a photograph.

So don't cancel that 45-day mountain trek. And don't leave your digital camera behind.

We don't all have to be tethered to the power lines.

Should You Get A Home Equity Loan When Refinancing?

Among the most economical lending solution available today are home equity loans and home equity lines of credit. Depending on your personal financial situation, some of the interest can be used as a tax deduction. They are generally flexible and generally offer you the best rates available. There are a lot of advantages to a home equity loan. However, be sure to refinance with extreme caution.

There are two different types of home equity loans. The actual loan usually has a fixed rate with a precise period of time in which the loan needs to be paid off. Also fixed is the payment. This type of loan is ideal for someone who has a precise amount in mind. When consolidating your debts, such as student loans, credit cards, car loans or doing some home improvements, a homeowner will obtain a home equity loan to consolidate their entire payments inro one easy to pay bill. Often times, this creates a lower overall monthly payment.

A more flexible option is a home equity line of credit. This is an open ended loan meaning the payment and rate usually tends to be lower and is variable. A line of credit is generally used like a credit card, with tax benefits. Interest is only paid on the portion of the line you use. The rest is available for when and if you need it. Whenever you make a payment, that portion that is applied to the principle and is then available to use again if need be. Some lenders will offer a card for easier access. This option is great for when you do need to use the money immediately or would like to have the flexibility to keep using the money without going through the loan process over and over again.

If you have equity left over, when you refinance your current mortgage, often times you will be offered a home equity line of credit or home equity loan. If you have other debts that are above and beyond your original mortgage, a good way to go is a home equity loan. You are probably wondering why you wouldn't include all of your debt in your original loan. Well, often times, in order to keep the loan amounts under 80%, debt is split into two different loans. This allows people to take advantage of the best rate available. If you are able to keep the loan amount under 80% of the home appraisal value, then you can easily avoid paying Private Mortgage Insurance, or PMI.

Whenever you do not have a need for a second loan when you are refinancing, you can then just put the money towards a line of credit. It is a good thing to have, should an emergency arise. When the need arises, the money is ready for you to use. This will save you the hassle of going through the entire loan process time and time again.

Another great benefit is the loan company can simply use the same credit inquiry for this loan that they used for the first loan. One note of precaution though, a line of credit usually has an annual fee attached to it. Be sure to ask your bank about specials they may be running in order to offset the cost. Sometimes they are willing to negotiate with you so that you will take the offer.

As you can clearly see, there are a lot of benefits to both a home equity loan and a home equity line of credit. Before making a decision, be sure to weigh all of your options. So that you are able to make a more informed decision, talk about the cost and ask if there are any hidden fees

Holiday Travel With Family Fun

Family holidays can be fun and exciting for all ages. Here are some pointers for finding the best holiday for your family.

First you need to determine the common interests of the family. Ask your children what they would like to see and what theyre studying in school. If you have very young children then usually you will know better than them but try to get them involved. Think of you and your spouse as well; what may be great fun for the kids may be boring and annoying for the adults. Pick somewhere that all of you will enjoy or a destination that gives you the opportunity for quiet time. While kids tend to be unrealistic, you can usually accommodate their interest. For example, if they want to take an African safari you could visit the immense animal park in San Diego, California.

Theme parks are fun for the kids and offer entertainment for adults as well. Disneyworld in Orlando, Florida includes the Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, Universal Studios and MGM Studios. There are luxury hotels located right inside the park and a monorail takes visitors to different parts of the park so theres no need to drive. The park is not the only attraction; there are other nearby attractions including the Kennedy Space Center, Coco Beach and Sea World.

A trip through the historic east coast is another fun holiday that the kids and adults are sure to enjoy. The east coast has beautiful mountains and beaches and contains most of the United States history. Attractions are close to each other compared to the rest of the U.S. so a road trip is the best way to travel with the family to this part of the country. Historic sights include George Washingtons home in Virginia and the Arlington Cemetery. The Smithsonian Museums in Washington, D.C. are free and there is something to interest everyone. There is the Space and Aeronautics Museum that children really enjoy with life size replicas and actual aircraft showing the history of flight. Washington also contains the U.S. political buildings such as the White House and the Pentagon.

Southern California offers many sights and is especially warm and pleasant in the late fall and early spring when most of the country is cold. Los Angeles is the film industry capitol of the world. You can visit Universal Studios theme park and Disneyland. You may even be able to catch the taping of a television show. San Diego which is just about two hours south of Los Angeles is a beautiful mid size city and has many tourist options. The San Diego Zoo is world renowned and Sea World is a must see for wildlife enthusiast. If you have young children then be sure to visit Legoland which has rides and even replicas of famous sights made entirely out of Legos.

Family holidays can be fun for the entire family. Its important to find a holiday that will interest the kids as well as the adults.

Writing: Its All In The Content

Maybe youve seen online advertising that reads something like, You too can make money in your spare time as a writer. It sounds inviting until you discover that some of that writing need includes writing a 400 word original article for one dollar.

If it takes you twenty minutes to write an article that would mean you could make $3 an hour. You might think thats ridiculous, but there is a reason why these mini-contracts are being awarded.

Some find this work acceptable if only because they love to write and it gives them a means to make a little money while fine tuning their skills. Others will accept the work because they dont know of any other markets that will accept their work and this feels safe. One of the biggest groups of people who accept this work are individuals in underdeveloped foreign countries that find this money can go much further in their country than it would in other economically developed countries.

When those requesting content understand they can receive finished writing at such low prices, most find it difficult to offer more. However, by setting your personal bar a little higher it is likely you can still accept content work for a fee that is in keeping with your skills and that may provide reasonable compensation for your time.

Content writing is a strong genre of writing. The material encompasses a variety of online as well as print needs. The author adapts to the style required and gives up rights to the work when complete. Rarely is the compensation for content writing in the same league as writing for a magazine, but it isnt speculative work either. In essence, when you complete a piece of literature for content purposes you are paid for it quickly. When writing for a magazine it may or may not be accepted. If it is accepted you may or may not be paid right away.

Many writers will involve themselves in some form of content writing. This type of writing requires minimal research and generally a short turnaround. Its possible to accept an article to write, write that article, and be paid all in the same day.

You may not choose to write content exclusively, but it can be one market worth investigating. In most cases when a client asks for material it is relatively easy to decline if you are busy working on other material. If you can develop a quality client base content writing can keep you as busy as you want to be.

10 Tips On How To Pack Your Suitcase For Your Trip To Europe

When packing for a trip to Europe you need to consider the weather, as well as the activities you are planning to participate in.

One important thing to keep in mind for all air travel (not only to Europe) is not to over-pack. Most carriers allow only 20 kilo or 45 lb if youre traveling economy. Furthermore you want to travel as light as possible in case you have to drag your luggage around with you.

I travel for business and private reasons at least 30 times a year and here are my most important recommendations:

1. Dont pack last minute. This will give you the chance to buy some things you need before your departure.

2. Start with the things you need for every vacation
Toiletries, underwear, socks, medicine. Always take sunscreen: As a working person you probably spend most of your time indoors and arent used to the sun.

3. Chose your main colors
In order to be able to combine all the pieces, try to stick to three main colors. Black and white are always two of my main colors, because they go wit everything. Add your favorite color like red, pink, green or blue.

4. Chose the basic everyday outfits
For short journeys (up to one week) pack one complete outfit for every day. For longer journeys, take one complete outfit for every day of the first week. Afterwards youll have to repeat clothes or go to a laundry.

Youll probably spend most of your time outdoors and walking around, visiting the different sights. Therefore your basic outfit could consist in jeans and T-shirt. Dont forget to pack a set of underwear and socks for each day.

5. Pack to evening outfits
If you plan to go to a fancy restaurant, the opera or a discotheque, youll need an evening outfit. Dont take more than two or three of them and make them simple yet stunning: black pants/skirts and a glamorous top.

6. Dont forget bad weather gear
Always take at least two sweaters, if the weather gets cold. An umbrella or rain jacket will be suitable as well.

7. What about sports?
Never go anywhere without a bathing suit! Its so tiny and you never know when you can use it. Maybe the weather is really hot and you want to go to the beach (at a lake) or the weather is really bad and you want to enjoy tropical feeling in an indoors swimming pool.

8. Chose three pairs of shoes
Take one or two comfortable shoes or sneakers for the everyday activities and one nice pair for the evening and maybe some really glitzy high heels for the occasional night life event.

9. Take as little jewelry as possible
Carrying your fine jewelry all across the world and taking it in and out the hotel safe might make yourself a target for theft. Dont ruin your vacation! Chose some basic pieces of jewelry and travel with those.

10. Spread out all clothes to consider onto your bed
Once everything is spread out on your bed, start packing your suitcase. Count the number of pieces and ask yourself:

Do I really need 20 T-shirts for a 2 week vacation? Then start putting half of the pieces back into the closet.

What Is A Car's Real Trade-in Value?

We all have the same goal when it comes to buying a car and making sure we get the most possible for our trade-in.

At the least, we want to make sure that we're not being taken advantage of.

So, with the advent of the internet and the myriad of car information now available to us, we point ourselves over to Kelley Blue Book to find this all-important value.

Later, when we're actually negotiating with a Dealer, we find it's not quite this easy. The Dealer's trade-in figure is lower than the one we got from the internet.

So, we whip it out and ask for an explanation, and rightfully so.

The truth of the matter is that a vehicle's "trade-in value" is not a number that is simply black and white. It's quite "gray" actually.

You see, it's not unlike valuing your own home. What is your home worth? Well, you can get a ballpark idea ... maybe a general price range. But a precise and fair figure? Nope.

Why? Because there are a number of other factors that determine "value".

What have similar homes (or cars) sold for recently? How long did it take them to sell? Is demand currently strong? Weak? Somewhere in between? What's the premium currently being paid for extra features such as a pool or a shed (sunroof or leather)?

A Dealer tries to access such issues, and of necessity, "opinion" and "subjectiveness" are going to play a significant role. And much the same way as having your house appraised for a loan, you'll get different answers from different "experts".

Another factor is very fluid. The Dealer will certainly check what similar vehicles have sold for at the wholesale, Dealer-Only car auctions. Have there been a lot of them? Did the bidding of other Dealers indicate local Dealer demand?

What could he buy this same car for at the auction? If he's unable to sell it, what price would he likely get for it at the auction? Does he have other similar vehicles in stock that have been difficult to sell?

And then, whatever figure the Dealer comes up with, he's going to reduce it a bit further to reduce the risk he's taking in investing in your car. He doesn't want to lose the profit he's making on your new car when selling or disposing of your trade-in.

So what's a consumer left to do? Well, unfortunately, it's negotiate, negotiate, negotiate ... as unpleasant as it is.

The best alternative, however, is to sell the car on your own. Although this takes additional time and effort, it is often well worthwhile.

One way to do this is actually very simple: just put a "For Sale" sign in your back window. We've seen this for years, but now that virtually everyone has a cell phone, it often works quite quickly.

Another alternative is to list your vehicle online since people shop for cars on the internet now far more now than reading newspaper classified ads. High traffic sites such as AutoTrader or Cars.com charge in the $40 to $70 range and usually the ad runs until the vehicle is sold.

Your Guide To Low-Cost Online Airfare To Florida

There used to be a time when vacationers picked up the phone, called their travel agent and kept their fingers crossed, hoping for a great deal on a flight. If you were lucky enough to get a discounted rate, that was wonderful. If you had to pay full fare, well, you weren't going to cancel your vacation over it. Just as computers have changed the way the world operates, they've also turned Joe Traveler into an armchair travel agent. Today it's possible to check flight availability, search for the best fare, book your own flight and in some cases, even choose your seat on the plane - all at the click of a mouse.

The advantage, of course, is the ability to compare air fares offered by several different companies within a very short time span. There's no phoning around, no automated messages to contend with and the information is right in front of your eyes.

There's no waiting for the travel agency to open at 9 a.m. and no cursing when you realize they closed at 5. When you wake up at 2 a.m. with an urge to fly to Orlando, you simply fire up the computer and book your flight online. Thanks to easy-to-follow instructions, the Internet helps you access virtually the same airline timetables, ticket prices, routing, seating information and restrictions details as a professional travel agent.

But anyone who's ever surfed the 'Net knows that it can be a time-consuming process - unless you know exactly what you're searching for. That's why we've come up with this handy, concise list of Web sites that promise low airfares to many popular destinations. Though a computer isn't a substitute for a knowledgeable travel professional, it can give you - the consumer - the inside track on where to find some really great prices.

Keep in mind that a well-designed online travel site should let you access the same information you'd receive from a travel agent. This includes finding and booking flights; comparing prices, seats and routings; researching destinations; tracking flights in progress; offering information about discounts and incentives; and keeping consumers updated on travel news and events.
